Notable performances: He rang 11,552 Superlative Major, 11,520 Rutland (both longest lengths at the time), 13,320 of Plain Bob Royal (on handbells) and 20,120 Double Norwich CB Major in 11 hours 6 minutes, which 60 years later is still the longest peal of Double Norwich. He rang 21,600 Spliced Treble Bob Minor with 60 methods at Loughborough - the most changes ever rung for a peal of spliced and for a peal of minor.
