Leicester Diocesan Guild

Was formed after the Midland Counties Association was divided into four new associations at the beginnings of 1946. [Research by John Harrison.]

The AGM of the Midland Counties Association held on 7th April 1945 agreed the society should be divided into three separate societies - Derby, Leicester and Southwell - from 1 January 1946, to generate greater local interest and the advancement of ringing. For further background see the Ringing World (12th January 1996, pages 35 to 37) and entry for the Midlands Counties Guild. [Research and observations associated with the Council Library Certificates Collection by Chris Ridley.]
