Kent County Association

The Association was formed at a meeting held in the Chapter House of Canterbury Cathedral on Whit Monday 18th May 1880 attended by around 150 ringers from all parts of the county. A resolution proposed by the Bishop of Dover 'That in the opinion of this meeting it is desirable that an Association for the cultivation of change-ringing be formed for this county'. This was carried unanimously. A fuller history can be found in Ringing World (16th May 1980, pages 413, 414, 431 and 432).
