Truro Diocesan Guild

Founded in the Chapter Room of Truro Cathedral [Research by John Harrison.]

The Guild was founded at a meeting in the Chapter Room of Truro Cathedral on 8th October 1897. The emphasis for the new guild, supported by the Lord Bishop in a letter in the first Guild Report, was to replace prize ringing with ringing for church services. A report of events was published in the Bell News (13th November 1897, page 343). [Research and observations associated with the Council Library Certificates Collection by Chris Ridley.]
