Derby and District Association

Was in the area previously served by the Midland Counties Association. This name was changed after only one year when the Association became known as the Derbyshire Association of Change Ringers. [Research by John Harrison.]

This Association served Derbyshire from 1947-April 1963 when the name was changed to the Derby Diocesan Association of Church Bellringers [Research by John Harrison.]

Derby Diocesan Association

Formerly the Derbyshire Association of Change Ringers, whose name was changed at the AGM on April 20th 1963; it covered the same area as its predecessors. [Research by John Harrison.]

The AGM of the Midland Counties Association held on 7th April 1945 agreed the society should be divided into three separate societies - Derby, Leicester and Southwell - from 1 January 1946, to generate greater local interest and the advancement of ringing.
