So the Southwell Diocesan Guild resolved to change its name to reflect the new name of the Diocese at its AGM in 2008. The AGM of the Midland Counties Association held on 7th April 1945 agreed the society should be divided into three separate societies – Derby, Leicester and Southwell – from 1 January 1946, to generate greater local interest and the advancement of ringing.
